This two-day workshop provides coverage of the processes and skills necessary for effective communication of requirements and interaction with stakeholders including conflict management and techniques for ensuring that the work of the project delivers a product that meets user needs.
The workshop provides extensive coverage of two knowledge areas identified by the BABOK® Guide – requirements management and communication and solution assessment and validation. It addresses the processes and skill sets necessary for presenting the requirements package, creating consensus on requirements, and refining requirements. It also addresses the important processes involved in ensuring that the project meets the requirements of users – solution assessment and verification, which require an understanding of and the ability to apply user acceptance testing, understanding testing concepts, design tests, and apply risk-based testing.
This workshop is compliant with the standards for business analysis and requirements definition, the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, Version 2.0 (the BABOK® Guide), which has been prepared by the International Association of Business Analysis (IIBA®).
This workshop allows participants to practice the application of the skills and methods necessary for requirements communication and assessment of the solution and verification that it meets the documented requirements.
The objectives of this workshop are to:
- Introduce participants to the concepts and methods involved in requirements communication and solution assessment and validation
- Provide training that is consistent with the BABOK® Guide
- Provide comprehensive coverage of those two portions of the requirements cycle defined by the BABOK® Guide and those skill sets necessary for accomplishing those functions
- Prepare participants to effectively communicate requirements and develop consensus on requirements
- Prepare participants to participate in the executing and monitoring and controlling process groups of projects by monitoring the application of requirements and ensuring that project deliverables meet identified requirements
- Prepare participants to participate effectively in the requirements process
- Provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of user acceptance testing
- Allow participants to interact with one another and to apply the skills they have learned
This workshop is part of the four-course sequence leading to the Babbage Simmel Business Analysis Certification Program.
This workshop is compliant with the standards for business analysis and requirements definition, the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Version 2.0. As an IIBA® Endorsed Education Provider (EEP) Charter Member; Babbage Simmel’s IIBA® endorsed courses qualify for CDU credit. 14 Continuing Development Units (CDUs) may be earned by attending this course.
This workshop is also compliant with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (the PMBOK® Guide, Fourth Edition). Those holding the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification can earn up to 14 Professional Development Units (PDU) for full participation in this workshop.
